This Year's Meeting:

Introduction of those present. A list was sent around (to most) to include names, address’s and email address’s)

Lon read P+L Statements and Balance Statement “as of August, 2007”

Blair road invoice and Rod T. invoice explained

Bill H. suggested getting email address’s to assist in paying road dues

Jim advised that a new website (www.preacherspoint.com) is being set up and that dues can be paid through Pay Pal. David Long was preparing the website (which is now up and running)

Jim advised that the Preacher’s Point Group has approximately $6,500.00 on hand

Lon advised that “Mariana” is no longer on the lake and requested a replacement for secretary duties (I will second that…BR)

Bill proposed that James O. become secretary, Sam seconded the motion.

James proposed Rod T. for President, Gwen seconded the motion.

Rod proposed Lon (?) as an Officer of the Association

Rod also proposed Jim W. as an Officer of the Association

Someone proposed Bill H. as an Officer of the Association

Lon discussed road fees and what the money (generally) is used for

Lon sees no reason for raising the dues yet but does not want to see them drop

Rod discussed “annual maintenance” and is getting quotes for review

Bill requested to know when road maintenance is being done so that he can have them do his driveway at the same time

Rod suggested additional “general care” of road should be considered

Grace (S) discussed problems with “spur road” drainage and damage, and that it could (should?) be shared with the adjoining three properties

Jim suggested that “recycled asphalt” be considered for the “big hill” on the main road. Sam requested that the road surface stay as “natural” as possible (ie stone surface as opposed to asphalt). It was pointed out that asphalt can develop holes.

James proposed that “Tim Mayhew” provide road trimming services every two years, seconded by ……(?)

Several different versions of possible types of road repair were discussed.

Bill asked that the Boice Bradley road be attended to earlier in the year (spring) to allow better access for non 4X4 vehicles

Lon suggested that Barry Boice use limestone screening in certain locations, Bob proposed, Sam seconded

Eric suggested that the culvert on Artisan Road may be damaged or in need of repair. He proposed that Barry Boice assess the work first before repairing, Sam seconded.

Jim suggested that general concerns (regarding the road) can be posted on the website

Jim requested that we advise Chris Chapman to remove the trailer left on the side of the road that once belonged to his property.

Boyd suggested leaving a note for Chris to remove it, or have the road association move it and send him a bill. (This was done following the meeting, with a suggested deadline of the “end of the month” (since passed). If anyone has a contact number, we can give him “one last chance”. A suggestion was made (after the meeting) that the “Towing Company” from West Guilford will take it away for scrap for a fee. Boyd to check on this the week of September 3rd)

Before spending additional money for limestone screening, it was suggested that certain areas of the road may be better served by additional work before the work is done. Boyd was to ask Larry Hewitt for advice (and quotes), Jim was getting the same from Barry Boice.

Antonia (through Jim?) requested us to review the quarry pit general condition and run off, and how it affects the road. Jim will investigate with Barry Boice, with the possibility of creating a ditch around the area.

Troy suggesting increasing the road fees to cover “proposed” road repairs.

Boyd suggested getting the summary of quotes first. Sam suggested increasing the fees now.

Jim advised that the Preacher’s Point group pays $150.00 towards their own road, and $150.00 towards the Miller Lake Road.

Lon proposed an increase of $100.00 per year for the Miller Road group.

Sam proposed increasing (combined) road fees from $166.67 to $200.00, Boyd seconded, all agreed.

Note: the gate at the entrance to Miller’s will be locked for a day and re-opened in order to meet (legal) requirements to maintain "private road" status – this will be done by Jim W. at a time to avoid disruption of service, when he comes up mid-April

Meeting Adjourned.
